They contain aluminum oxide, which adsorbs fluoride ions from water as it passes through the filter.

Fluoride is a naturally occurring mineral found in various amounts in soil, water sources, and certain foods. It's also synthetically produced for various purposes, including dental health and industrial applications.

In dental health, fluoride is well-known for its role in preventing tooth decay and cavities. It helps to strengthen tooth enamel, the outer layer of the teeth, making them more resistant to acid attacks caused by bacteria and sugars in the mouth. This mineral can even reverse early signs of tooth decay by remineralizing weakened areas of the enamel.

Fluoride is commonly added to toothpaste, mouthwash, and drinking water in some regions to enhance dental health. Community water fluoridation is a public health measure aimed at improving oral health by adjusting the concentration of fluoride in the water supply to an optimal level for preventing cavities while avoiding potential risks associated with excessive fluoride intake.

However, excessive fluoride intake can lead to a condition called fluorosis, which can cause dental problems such as discoloration or mottling of teeth, particularly in children whose teeth are still developing.

It's important to maintain a balanced approach to fluoride intake, ensuring that it provides dental benefits without causing adverse effects. Many health organizations, including the World Health Organization (WHO) and the American Dental Association (ADA), provide guidelines on the appropriate use and intake of fluoride for optimal dental health.

Activated Alumina Ball Al2O3

Description

Activated Alumina Ball Al2O3 is made of aluminum oxide (Al2O3) ceramic. Alumina ceramic as a fine ceramic material is widely used in a lot of industries. It features good physical properties, high strength, non-toxic, tasteless. Since it has good ion exchange capability above the entrance of 0.4 cm3/g, it has high adsorption capacity, making it an economic, effective, and practical method to eliminate fluoride.

Activated Al2O3 Ball is originally a kind of adsorption material, has a certain role of adsorption impurities, and can be divided into macroporous (100-500a), mesopore (40-100a), and microporous (40A). The pore diameter distribution varies from 10A to 500A. It has a certain adsorption capacity for molecules smaller than their pore diameter.

Applications

Activated Alumina Ball can be widely used in the deep drying of pyrolysis gas, ethylene and propylene, hydrogen production, air separation, instrument air drying, and fluorine treatment of hydrogen peroxide, and also can be used to absorb H2S, SO2, and other pollutants, HF and water vapor in paraffin, especially in defluorination of drinking water.
